Kathleen Foster
A devoted student of yoga and philosophy since 1994, Kathleen Foster's teaching style reflects her studies of the Ashtanga Vinyasa and Iyengar traditions. With a strong focus on the internal forms of yogic alignment and breath, Kathleen creates a space that encourages students to deepen their awareness of the present moment through an exploration of yoga's infinite potential for self-transformation.
Kathleen has completed over 1000 hours of study with her primary teacher Richard Freeman, including three teacher trainings with emphasis on asana, pranayama, philosophy, and chanting. She has also been blessed with many opportunities to study with other great and wise teachers of yoga and Buddhism including HH the 14th Dalai Lama and Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois, in both India and the United States.
Kathleen teaches practicing yoga with compassion and a sense of humor, allowing the mind and body to free itself through internal exploration. In addition to her public classes, Kathleen offers private, individual and family, yoga sessions in the Bay area

Jean Smith
Jean Smith is a registered teacher through the Yoga Alliance (R.Y.T.) and has been teaching yoga to adults and children since 1989. She is certified through the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. Jean is currently enrolled in the 500-hour professional level training at Kripalu and has recently completed "Chakra Yoga" training.
The Kripalu approach combines traditional Hatha Yoga postures with proper breathing, meditation techniques and an ongoing focus on body awareness. Kripalu Yoga is a reliable way to still the mind, enliven the spirit, strengthen, tone, shape, realign, relax and energize your body. Jeanne combines awareness of the "Chakra" system in her classes. The chakra system involves the major energy, gland, and nerve centers of the body. Focusing on the chakras while practicing yoga, creates a powerful experience that will enhance your practice and approach to life.
